I've never filed GST returns myself. Is apriltax for me?

How much does it cost?

Self-filing is free for e-commerce sellers: unlimited GSTR-1 returns and orders, no credit card. CAs and tax professionals also use the multi-client dashboard free for now. You pay only if a Tax Expert files for you: GSTR-1 and 3B from ₹500 a month, with GSTR-9, GST registration and income tax returns priced per service on the Pricing page.

Which platforms are supported?

Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, Myntra and Snapdeal, plus the Govt Excel template that most accounting software exports. Not selling on a marketplace? The Other platforms sheets cover B2B and B2C sales from an offline shop, your own website, quick-commerce apps or B2B invoicing. Upload any mix and apriltax puts each file under the right platform and month.

Which reports do I need to upload?

The complete set for each platform you sell on. For Meesho that's the TCS Sales, TCS Sales Return and Tax Invoice files. The Tax Invoice file carries your invoice numbers, which fill Documents issued (Table 13). For Flipkart, the Sales Report is preferred over the GST Report. Every platform has a How to download guide on the upload screen, and if you upload the wrong report, such as a payment or P&L file, apriltax tells you what it is and where to get the right one.

Does apriltax file directly to the GST portal?

apriltax prepares a validated GSTR-1 JSON file in the portal's current format. You upload it on the GST portal's GSTR-1 offline upload, then submit and file with OTP or DSC. Direct filing through the GSTN API is on our roadmap. If you'd rather not touch the portal at all, a Tax Expert can file for you.

I file quarterly (QRMP). Is that supported?

Yes. In the first two months of a quarter you can file IFF with your B2B invoices, or skip it. The return for the last month of the quarter automatically includes the files you uploaded under the earlier months, so the whole quarter is filed together.

Question 7

What does apriltax check before I download?

Accepted Answer

It runs the GST portal's rules on your return and stops the download if something would get it rejected. For example: invoice numbers longer than 16 characters, invoice dates after the return period, an empty Documents issued (Table 13), missing or short HSN codes, and invalid GSTINs. Each problem shows exactly which entry is wrong, in plain words, with a link to fix it. HSN codes can be corrected for every row in one step.

Is my data safe?

Accepted Answer

Your files stay on your device until you upload them. After that they're stored in your account on servers in India. We never share your data with third parties or use your filings to train models, and you can delete a period's data at any time.

I am a CA. How does apriltax help my practice?

apriltax is built for multi-client GSTR-1 filing and is free for CAs for now. One login covers your whole practice, with unlimited clients kept separate by GSTIN.
